Morocco and Italy: Karim’s shoes

We hear a lot of times that Italian fashion is one of the most sophisticated industries in the world, with thousands of admirers and critics. It is also true that we don’t hear about how many POC Italian talents are rising in the fashion scene. There are many names out there, but we decided to start with one in particular. He was born and raised in Morocco, but he has been living in San Mauro Pascoli, in the area of Romagna (Northern Italy). This is the land where shoes are known to be carefully manufactured. His shoes are remarkably sharpening and made quite an impression this past Milan Fashion Week. We’re talking about Karim Daoudi.

We’ve taken the time to interview Karim and ask him about his brand. Karim is also represented by Michelle Ngonmo, founder and CEO of Afro Fashion Milan.

What inspired you in designing the shoes?

The love I have for women. I do it through shoes, a very important and delicate object that makes a woman change both in character and mood.

Share your assets with us. What relationship do you have with your cultural worlds (Italy and Morocco)?

My heritage is rich in color, memories, fantasies from two different worlds of craftsmanship. always try to put them together, this is my strong point. Thanks to Morocco and Italy.

How difficult was it to enter the fashion sector in Europe, particularly in Italy?

It is so difficult, but my passion is less difficult for me. Working hard and with passion is what makes difficult things easy.

Have you always had a strong bond/passion for fashion?

It was fashion that helped me as a child integrated into Italy (school) and I had the change coming from another country

Where will you see your brand next?
I would see my brand in the short future in the history of international fashion as a symbol of elegance and refinement

How do you keep up with creativity?

I always start from what I experienced and I tell it in a Karim Daoudi way with a search for what women lack, offering elegant and comfortable footwear.
