5 brands to support during Pride Month

Many brands capitalize on certain moments without fully supporting the causes they claim to be allies for. We see that a lot especially during Pride Month. Brands can incorporate the rainbow flag into their logo, but do they actually care about the LGBTQ+ community? It’s important to weed out the real from the fake.

While there are more companies than not that show support, here are 5 brands that truly celebrate Pride this year.

Coach

Coach believes that “everyone deserves the space to be their authentic self” according to their Instagram post. They are partnering with the Hetrick-Martin Institute, Point Foundation, and Centerlink Community of LGBTQ Centers, in order for youths that are part of the community can comfortably and unapologetically be themselves.

Levi’s

Levi’s has a Pride collection that visually expresses its support for the community. Their inclusive, beautiful pieces of clothing are to catch anyone’s eye.

With the money they make from the collection, they donate to OutRight Action International which is an organization in support of the community’s human rights.

NYX Professional Makeup

NYX Professional Makeup created an entire limited-edition collection in celebration! The beauty brand displays that no matter what you identify as or what you look like, you can “paint [your] own story.” The products of this lone have some pretty good reviews so far.

Kate Spade

Kate Spade is celebrating Pride by having “special partners from the community to share their own mental and identity stories.

Also, for the third year in a row, their partnership with The Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis support for young people of the community.

Nordstrom

Similar to Levi’s, Nordstrom also has a Pride collection in support of the month. The best part is that the lead designer is queer and the brand also sought out the opinions of others in the community to give their opinion on the pieces as well. When you proceed to checkout on NYX site, you’ll have the option to donate to their partner, Los Angeles LGBT Center.

How is your favorite brand celebrating Pride Month? Think about that while you check these ones I just suggested.
