QueensAv brings y’all royalty ‘n class

There must be intentional and pure energy to master creativity and business altogether. This combination of creative flows and hustler-attitude is part of Victoria Bermudez, owner of Queens Av.

From Queens, NY, Victoria is an example of the modern and pragmatic hustler: an attentive woman that places and values creativity, positive vibes, and business. With her Aquarius spirit, Victoria explains what her business is about and her own creative brand, being also an actress and tv-personality.

What made you create your own boutique and fashion business?

As an individual who was born and raised in New York City, fashion is really a part of the lifestyle here. It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, a look isn't made because you have money, a look is made because you are you. And I think that is something you pick up on here in NYC. Since fashion is a part of the culture here, it is a part of my life. I grew up watching my young mother and godmother getting dressed to hit up industry parties and walk-in runway shows for HOT97. I paid close attention to clothes whether it was my mother's clothes or the extravagant ensembles outfits I was fascinated with from Disney Channel fairy tale movies and shows. My passion for fashion has always fueled something inside of me that made me want to somehow be a part of the industry for most of my life. In elementary school, my mother bought me a sewing machine, in high school I got into styling for films, in college I styled my own shoots, and now as an adult, I own my own clothing boutique. Fashion is really just a part of me and not something I can escape even if I tried.

How do you select your pieces? Do you follow a pre-selected mood board or just go with the flow?

Before selecting pieces for my store I create a mood board. This board might reflect a certain time period, color scheme, film character, movie, or all of the above. I then search for pieces by certain vendors that best reflect my inspiration and create a "Collection".

What's the most challenging aspect of being a business owner?

For me, the most challenging aspect of being a business owner would have to be the learning curve of simply running a clothing business. Since it's just me running my business at the moment, there are so many duties that fall on my plate. Whether I enjoy doing some of these tasks or even know how to do them, it doesn't matter because if I don't get them done then who will? I'm going on a year in being in business, and this venture was definitely something I just dived into and have been learning as I go. Every day I'm learning something new, which is great. This experience has helped me grow tremendously and has taught me patience. I always strive to be great, and greatness is never rushed.

You go by the name "Experience Vee" and you've got a bright and positive personality. What kind of experience do you want your customers to have when they deal with you and get your clothes?

I definitely always want my customers to have a fun and extravagant experience when shopping QueensAV, as well as feel like they are pleasing their inner child by being able to shop nostalgic pieces that my store provides. As of right now, we are only an online store but I'm currently learning new and innovative ways to give customers a unique experience while shopping on the internet. But, we are having our first in-person shopping experience on Saturday, July 24th, I hope all goes well with that.

What can we expect from QueensAv in the next few months?

In the next few months, you can expect a new collection, our clothes being featured in some independent projects, and a total REVAMP. I'm so excited and can't wait for the world to see what we have in store!
