Fe Noel and the Enchanting Looks with an Essential Message

For the fashion world, September is typically the time for brands to showcase their spring/summer lines to be sported the following year. Fe Noel participates in this tradition with grace, as per usual. Perfectly balancing the allure of class and mystery, Fe Noel took to Instagram, teasing elements of the presentation in the wee hours of the morning, pre-show. The founder and CEO, Felisha Noel, then informed onlookers on her personal account that a new partnership and statement piece would soon be unveiled, debuting for the first time at the Fe Noel SS23 show.

As one of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund 2022 Finalists, Fe Noel has been making a name for itself as a quickly emerging brand in the industry. As one of the closers for night one of fashion week, this show helped to kick the week off on a strong note, mesmerizing audiences through beautiful and thought-provoking art. The showcase seemed intimately personal to designer Felisha Noel, as she mentioned the desire to present during fashion week only when she has something important to say.

One word to sum it all up: breathtaking. What is there not to love about the dainty silhouettes, draping fabrics, a beautiful color palette, and of course we cannot forget those fabulous puffy sleeves? On brand with the overall style of Fe Noel’s past lines yet new and refreshing for spring, this SS23 line did not disappoint.

One of the highly memorable shows of the night, the striking pieces were accompanied by an equally striking message. The much-anticipated announcement to close the show was presented in the form of a stunning, one-of-a-kind, couture gown. The epitome of wearable art, this “Dre$$” as it was formally named by Fe Noel herself was adorned at every inch with artificial money, tallying up to an astounding $1.6 million.

The dress and dollar amount represent the pay gap between men and women that trickles into retirement as women are left with 30%, or $1.6 million less than men in savings over the course of their careers. This announcement marks the partnership with TIAA, a financial services company, to bring awareness to this gap in hopes of closing it.

All of these elements considered, Fe Noel definitely left audiences with much to think about.  Check more images from the show here and on our Instagram page.
